  Politics within Alliances:
Germany's Multilateral Foreign Policy

Prof. Sven Gareis

Since its reunification Germany has been redefining its position in Europe and the world, a process which is reflected in its respective external policies.
This book outlines the fundamentals of Germany’s foreign policy, examines its role in the frameworks of the European Union, NATO and the United Nations and discusses the country’s perspectives in a globalised world.
Each chapter provides a concise introduction to an important area of German foreign policy and encourages further thought and discussion.

Professor Sven Bernhard Gareis teaches Political Science at the Bundeswehr General Staff College in Hamburg and at the University of Münster, Germany.
